The Site Supervisor also functions as the on <br />site safety officer. <br />Health and Safety Officer: TBD <br />The Health and Safety Officer is responsible for the <br />offsite support in implementation of this plan. All <br />changes in this plan will be approved and implemented by <br />the Health and Safety Officer. <br />3.0 JOB HAZARD ANALYSIS <br />The hazards associated with the site activities include <br />chemical and physical hazards. <br />3.1. Heat stress <br />A potential hazard due to heat stress is associated with high <br />ambient temperatures, use. of protective clothing, heavy <br />physical labor, and/or any combination thereof. Procedures <br />that will be implemented to reduce the risk of heat stress <br />include: <br />a) Training to familiarize individuals with heat stress <br />symptoms. <br />b) The implementation of work - rest cycles, as <br />appropriate, to periodically allow employees to <br />remove protective clothing and cool down. <br />c) The availability of liquids to replace loss of body <br />fluids. <br />d) Utilization of cooling devices, such as ice vests or <br />vortex coolers, if necessary. <br />When ambient temperatures exceed 70 OF and employees are <br />required to wear impermeable clothing and perform heavy <br />physical labor, the method for preventing heat stress will be <br />
