Matching tapers
in bell and spigot make a firm
interference fit that holds the joint
together while the adhesive cures.
Ameron's UL -listed Type 20
adhesive cures at normal tempera-
tures without external heat sources
and is suitable for reformulated
fuels as well as all types of gasoline
and alcohol -gasoline mixtures.
LJ
Full range of UL -listed sizes
Dualoy 3000/1, is the only line of
fiberglass pipe, fittings and adapters
available in a full 2- through 6 -inch
size range with UL listing. Ameron
offers UL -listed components not
only for typical small -diameter
service station installations, but also
for large -volume bulk fuel terminals,
marinas and central fuel oil systems.
11
Adjacent lengths ofAmeron containment pipe
may be nested together to provide easy access
to primaryfittings.
No -waste installation
The Dualoy 3000/L joint is listed for
direct burial, so contractors can use
conventional parallel piping
layouts instead of the inefficient
series arrangements required by
hose systems. Lacking a joint that
can be buried, hose systems must
make all runs with an uninter-
rupted length of hose. These
systems often waste a lot of costly
material since it is not possible to
rejoin and thus salvage short
lengths. Dualoy piping has no
such layout restrictions: wastage
is minimal since nipples and short
lengths are cut from scrap.
The quick, room -temperature cure adhesive
joint is one reason a two-man crew can put
in more Dualoy 3000/L in 3 days than a three-
man steel crew can in 4 days.
Containment systems with benefits
second to none
Dualoy 3000/1, secondary contain-
ment systems use rigid, heavy -wall
fittings and real pipe to enclose the
primary piping from the turbine
sump to the dispenser pan. Ameron
containment provides a continuous
annular space between secondary
and primary, making it possible to
test the containment and monitor
the product lines at any time.
All Ameron containment pipe and
fittings are manufactured from the
same fiberglass -reinforced resins as
the primary, so they accommodate
the same broad range of fuels as the
product lines.
Since Dualoy 3000/1, containment is
rigid, it is easy to construct lines that
slope uniformly from dispenser to
tank, thus eliminating the high spots
and traps that arise when legs of a
hose system cross.
Dualoy 3000/1, containment pipe is
so smooth on the outside that the
contractor need only remove the
surface gloss at the ends before
After the primaryjoints have been inspected,
Dualoy containment piping is joined with
reducing couplings.
installing the containment fittings:
no special end preparation is
required. Only Ameron can offer
such easy installation.
Easy access to primary
Ameron containment piping
employs pipe of two slightly
different sizes in the secondary
so that adjacent sections can be
nested together to provide con-
venient access to the primary
joints during bonding, testing
and visual inspection. No other
rigid -wall containment system is
faster to install.
UL -listed for alcohol -based and
reformulated fuels
Ameron led the fiberglass pipe
industry in obtaining UL listing for
alcohol service in underground
piping systems. Dualoy systems can
be used to carry gasoline, diesel,
alcohol blends, straight alcohols
and today's reformulated fuels.
Ameron specially fittings such as tank bungs,
isolation adapters and sump penetration
pieces combine fiberglass strength with the
corrosion resistance of epoxy resins.
