It is anticipated that
these tanks will be removed within the next few months pending regulatory approval of this
application for permit for closure.
Per your telephone conversation with David Oliver on 12 September 1990, I am sending
you triplicate copies of the San Joaquin Local Health District application for permit to
close one 550 -gallon and one 2,000 -gallon underground storage tank. Enclosed with this
application is a check for $180.00 for permitting fees, copies of the site location map, a
description of soil sampling procedures, and copies of AEMC licenses and insurance
coverages. Please post these AEMC documents on file with the SJLHD in the event that
we will perform other work in your county in the future.
AEMC will purge the tanks of combustible vapors using 20 pounds of dry ice per
1000 gallons of tank capacity, beginning approximately three hours prior to County
inspection. Both tanks will be manifested as a hazardous waste and transported to
Enckson, Inc. in Richmond, California where they will be rinsed, cleaned and properly
disposed of. No onsite decontamination will be attempted.
If you have any questions concerning the above -referenced material or if we may be of any
further service, please feel free to give Mr. David Oliver or me a call at (916) 364-8872.
jSi cerely,
James F.
