Show employees <br /> where the spill response supplies are kept. Explain the criticality of only using <br /> spark-free equipment when cleaning up or containing flammable substances. <br /> If the spill can not be contained or cleaned up by onsite personnel, contact <br /> 911. Make every attempt to contain the release until emergency crews have <br /> responded. <br /> Explain the process for storing hazmat after a cleanup. Solid waste, such as <br /> kitty litter or rags, must be placed in a properly labeled solid waste hazmat <br /> container. Liquid hazmat must similarly be placed into a properly labeled liquid <br /> hazmat container. <br /> Through the containment and cleanup process, monitor and mitigate any <br /> potential fire hazards (ignition sources such as electronics, smoking, etc.) <br /> Ensure employees know whom to contact to report any spill or release. <br /> 9 <br />
