Tank Removal Work Plan <br /> Manteca Beacon <br /> 1001 E. Yosemite Blvd, Manteca, CA <br /> Tank Removal: The tank removal operation will last 1-2 days and will <br /> include a 3 person crew. Three Tanks and associated piping <br /> will be removed from this site as follows; <br /> 3-10,000 Gallon Gasoline UST's <br /> - Contact USA prior to start of job, outline excavation area with <br /> white paint as required by USA.. <br /> -All fuel in tank to be pumped out into barrels prior to <br /> removal, and arranged for disposal by owner Mr. Yhorafani. <br /> - Triple rinse tank as required by the County Health <br /> Department by HEI. <br /> - Saw cut and remove any concrete/asphalt as needed for <br /> exposure of tank. <br /> - Using a backhoe, approximately 3-4 feet of cover soil will be <br /> removed and set in the "Reusable soil pile" to expose the fuel <br /> supply, return piping and the top of the tank. The piping will <br /> then be disconnected from the tank, this piping will be <br /> disposed of as a non-hazardous material by HEI. <br /> -After piping is removed the backhoe will dig to an elevation <br /> at the base of the tank on one side and one end. The spoils <br /> will be placed as designated. If is deemed contaminated 10 <br /> M11 plastic sheeting will be placed over the site by HEI. <br /> -The tank will be rendered inert by placing 50 lbs of dry ice in <br /> tank. <br /> -A Gasboy Model#205 LEL/02 meter will be used to determine <br /> Lower Explosive Limit (LEL) and oxygen levels prior to the <br /> tank being removed from the ground by HEI. <br /> - Using existing pick lugs, crane rigging will be attached. The <br /> tank will be removed and set on the ground adjacent to the <br /> excavation. The tank will be blocked to ensure its stability. <br /> The County Health Inspector will then inspect the tank for <br /> any possible evidence of leakage. The tank will then be coded <br /> prior to shipment. The tank will be placed on to the truck and <br /> delivered to designated site by HEI. <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br />
