PLC-5000 Site Controller, LD-2000 and LD-2000 PLC
7.0 Conclusions
The following conclusions and recommendations are based on the results of the testing
described in this report.
• The Vaporless PLC-5000 Line Leak Detection system exceeds the EPA
performance requirements for Hourly Testing and Annual Line Tightness Testing.
• In the Monthly Monitoring/Annual Line Tightness Testing mode, the probability of
detection (Po) ofa 0.1 gal/hr leak is 100% and the probability of false alarm on a
tight line is 0%. (The EPA requires apDof at least 95% and a PFAofno greater
than 5%.)
• The system performed properly for the six Monthly/Annual tests conducted on
the flexible pipeline.
• The 98 LD-2000/98 LD-2000 PLC performed properly for the 19 Hourly tests that
were conducted on the rigid and flexible pipelines.
• The Vaporless system can be used on rigid pipelines up to 172 gallons in volume
or 400 feet of 3.25 inch diameter line.
• The Vaporless system can be used on flexible pipelines up to 39.5 gallons in
volume or 430 feet of 1.5 inch diameter line.
• A waiting time after product is circulated through the line or after pumping has
stopped is not necessary before conducting a valid test. Testing was initiated
immediately following the product circulations.
• A waiting time after delivery of product is not necessary before a valid test can
be conducted.
Page 20
