WESTERN FIBERGLASS, INC. 1-800-688-3375 <br /> FIBERGLASS SUMP REPAIR PROCEDURE <br /> If repair becomes necessary to a FRP sump because of damage or a misplaced hole or <br /> penetration, repair can be effected easily. <br /> If damaged, remove the damaged area by cutting out with a suitable tool; Saber saw, <br /> Saws-All, diamond tipped cutting wheel or hole saw. <br /> NOTE: FOLLOW ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES BEFORE <br /> ENTERING OR OPERATING POWER EQUIPMENT WITHIN A SUMP. <br /> Order replacement piece of material that is 2" larger, length and width or diameter. For <br /> example, If you cut a 12" X 12" hole, overlay a 16" X 16" piece. If you cut a 6" diameter <br /> hole, overlay a 10" circular piece of the same material. You must use the same material <br /> as the sump you are repairing. <br /> Attach repair piece with self tapping screws, supplied with piece by Western Fiberglass, <br /> Inc. and follow the bonding procedures as outlined in the tank sump installation <br /> instructions. <br /> You must use the same resin and fiberglass cloth material as was used in the <br /> manufacture of your sump. The resin and fiberglass materials used to manufacture <br /> Western Fiberglass sumps are specifically designed for use with fuels and are not the same <br /> as fiberglass used for boats, cars or other uses. <br /> After positioning sumps onto tank collar or after placing reducer on sump riser tube,use disc <br /> sander,with medium to heavy grit sand paper,to scuff up all seam areas a minimum oft"each <br /> side of the point where the components join.It is very important that this be done fully,as the <br /> bonding materials will not adhere to any surface which has not been sanded <br /> BE SURE TO WEAR A <br /> DUST MASK Brush <br /> sanding dust from'- <br /> seam areas. <br /> IC"L <br /> SEAM LAMINATIONS SfDt <br /> Use one plastic bucket with r SAND/BOND AREA <br /> acetone to clean roller, SusPT <br /> brushes and squeegee. <br /> Return tools to this bucket SAND/BOND AREA <br /> between use to prevent TANK COLLAR — — <br /> bonding materials from <br /> drying on them. BE SURE TANK <br /> TO SHAKE THE <br /> ACETONE OUT OF <br /> TOOLS BEFORE RE-USE. <br />
