fi A FST <br />upgraded to Level C. The work will be stopped, and personnel will move upwind of the <br />Exclusion Zone. If PID readings are greater than 250 PPM, the SSHO/HSM will assess the <br />situation. <br />All personnel leaving the active work area will be required to decontaminate personal <br />protective clothing in the Decontamination Zone prior to leaving the site for breaks, lunch or <br />end of work shift. The following operations, appropriate to protection level, are to be <br />accomplished for decontamination. Wash boots and outer gloves in TSP and water, rinse and <br />remove outer gloves. Remove and bag Tyvek. If cotton coveralls are used, remove and bag <br />prior to rewearing. If worn, remove respirator, and wash in TSP and rinse in water. Remove <br />surgical gloves and dispose in a plastic trash bag. Wash hands and face. Take a shower and <br />wash hair as soon as possible after leaving site. <br />Materials required for this decontamination will consist of: plastic sheeting, polyethylene bags, <br />sufficient water for soaping and rinsing, several large tubs, TSP soap, brushes, hand soap <br />toweling, and drums. <br />The Contractor will decontaminate all contaminated equipment utilized before it is used at <br />another locale, or before the equipment leaves the site. Any contaminated material, other <br />than soil samples will be placed in metal drums or covered in plastic and stored on site, <br />according to Federal, State and Local Regulatory Agencies, until the material is analyzed for <br />future disposal. <br />The following equipment/materials could be utilized for decontamination of the heavy <br />equipment: 55 -gallon drums, polyethylene bags, labels and signs, trough/wash area, and <br />portable steam cleaner. <br />Vir-IMU, <br />While the UST excavation activities are in progress, the subcontractor is to provide a First -Aid <br />Kit, eyewash kit, fire extinguisher, and sorbent material for personnel at a site being worked. <br />13 <br />
