The standpipe test was conducted and a leak in the above
ground pipe system was located. The product loss from the pipe
leak was collected during the test period and accounted for in
the test results which showed a product volume loss estimated to
be approximately -0.033 gal/hour.
Unfortunately, the test data for this tank and four others
tested the same day were stolen from a vehicle overnight along
with some other equipment.
A retest of this tank system is recommended after correcting
the above ground pipe leaks.
Tank 827-11D This 8,000 gallon diesel tank and piping system
was tested by the Horner EZY-CHEK method. The tank manway cover
would not seal , and therefore, the system leaked -0.066 gal/hour.
A low level test indicated the tank below the manway cover was
"product tight". A retest of this system is recommended when the
manway cover is properly sealed.
Tank 865-11D This 4,000 gallon diesel tank and piping system
was tested by the Horner EZY-CHEK method . A significant above
ground leak was noted and could not be corrected at the time. A
low level test was attempted, but was inconclusive due to
excessive product gain (+0.02 gal/hour) . It is possible that
this gain was product draining back into the tank. A retest of
this system is recommended when the pipe leak is repaired.
-10-
