Tank 411-11D This 10 ,000 gallon diesel tank and piping system
showed a product volume loss greater than -0.055 gal/hour. A low
• level Horner test of the "tank only" showed the tank to be "pro-
duct tight" within the acceptable compliance limits. The conclu-
sion reached is a likely leak in the piping system. It may be
possible to line test the product delivery pipe, if the check
valve does not leak. A product line pressure test is recom-
mended.
Tank 490-41D This 2 ,000 gallon diesel tank and piping system
was tested by both the PETRO TITE and Horner EZY-CHECK methods .
The PETRO TITE conducted first showed a product volume loss of
-0.354 gal/hour. The Horner low level test of the "tank only"
showed the tank "product tight" with a result of -0.004 gal/hour.
• A product line pressure test is recommended.
Site 300 Facility
Tank 815-11D This 10,000 gallon diesel tank and piping system
was tested by the Horner EZY-CHEK method and showed a product
volume gain greater than 0.02 gal/hour . This result is inconclu-
sive and indicates unsatisfactory test conditions, such as : pro-
duct line check valve leaking product into the tank, groundwater
leaking into the tank, or a vapor pocket expanding during the
test . A standpipe test procedure can, in some cases , overcome
the influence of the above conditions.
-9-
