All periodic leak detection is performed automatically, and all required test
records are retained in the system.
The capability to perform computing/control functions, in addition to those
leak detection/probe monitoring and inventory/delivery monitoring/reconciii-
ation, is provided. The system is capable of future expansion to incorporate
addition 1/0 for new sensors and probes (e.g., remediation, energy manage-
ment, site security, inventory control, etc.).
• The system is "user-friendly", provides operator prompts for input/output
commands, and contains context -sensitive "help" screens for ease of training
and troubleshooting.
• Functions for system configuration, start-up, and maintenance are key lock
and/or password protected. They are not a part of the set of operator
displays.
• Start-up includes a demonstration to the Owner by the Systems Vendor that
a Regulatory Leak Rate can reliably be detected, and that an Annual Precision
Test can be successfully completed in a reasonable time.
• An Operating Manual is provided with each system for use by the station
personnel. Tables/charts are provided indicating the specific system func-
tions, alarms and display. Descriptions as to why they are provided in the
system and suggested operator usage and actions are also included.
• An Installation and Start-up Manual is provided with each system for use by
the site contractor. It contains all of the information, drawings, and diagrams
required by the contractor to prepare the site for installation of the system
equipment.
• The actual installation, configuration, start-up, and troubleshooting of system
equipment is performed only by personnel who are certified by Control
Engineers.
Field Sensors and Probes
• Designed for installation as part of an Intrinsically Safe system.
• All wiring and cabling is conformed to general industry requirements for
installation at retail facilities.
Host Monitoring/Control (HMC) System
• The operating system for the host uses commercially available software.
Capable of modifying the specific configuration and operating parameters of
the SOC Units automatically when the proper authorization is provided.
• Capable of overseeing/supervising at least 500 retail facilities from one CRT
operator station.
Page 2
