PROCEDURE FOR AIR PRESSURE TESTING
SUPERTANK"m ANNULAR SPACE
In the event local regulating jurisdictions insist on a positive pressure test for the SUPERTANKT"" annular
space against Trusco's recommendation, the following procedure must be adhered to or the warranty
is invalid. Trusco must be notified of the time and place of the test at least 24 hours in advance of the
test and a copy of this form must be completed, signed by all parties, and returned to Trusco
immediately upon completion of the test.
PRECONDITIONS
1. SUPERTANKTM must be backfilled to the top of the tank as shown in Figure 1 (attached).
2. Trusco representative must be notified when a SUPERTANKTN1 annulus is required to be pressure tested.
3. The valved inlet manifold and valved transfer manifold must each have dual 0-5 psig pressure gages. See Figure 2.
4. Maximum air pressure applied to steel primary tank shall be 3.2 psig.
5. Maximum air pressure applied to annular space shall be 3 psig.
PROCEDURE
1. Apply sealant and install plugs, valved outlet manifold, valved inlet manifold with dual 0-5 psig gages and valved transfer
manifold with dual 0-5 psig gages as shown in Figure 1. Make sure all manifold valves are closed.
2. Start compressor.
3. While monitoring the two inlet manifold pressure gages, open the inlet manifold valve and pressurize the primary tank
until the inlet manifold pressure gages read between 3 psig and a maximum of 3.2 psig. Close the inlet manifold valve.
NOTE : If, while applying air into the primary tank, both gages do not read within 1/2 psig of each other, stop the
test by closing the inlet manifold valve, depressurize the primary tank by opening the outlet manifold valve, replace boas
cages and start over at step 2
4. Next, while monitoring the two transfer manifold gages, open the transfer manifold valve and pressurize the annular space
to a maximum of 3 psig. Close the transfer manifold valve.
NOTE : If, while applying air into the annular space, both gages do not read within 1 /2 psig of each other, stop
the test by closing the transfer manifold valve, depressurize the annular space by carefully removing one gage, r lace
both gages, and start over at step 2-
5. Hold pressure for the desired length of time.
6. Depressurize by first opening the outlet manifold valve and releasing air until the inlet manifold gages read the same as
the transfer manifold gages. Close the outlet manifold valve. Next open the transfer manifold valve and then reopen the
outlet manifold valve to purge both the primary tank and the annular space at the same rate.
CERTIFICATION
The undersigned do hereby certify that the annulus pressure test was performed in strict conformance
with this procedure for the SUPERTANKTM listed below.
Performed By:
Company Name Company Representative Signature
Date of Test
Witnessed By:
Regulator/inspector Signature
Title
Trusco Order No.
Customer P.O. #
Tank Owner
Installation Address
Company Representative Name (Please Print)
egulator nspeetor Name (Please Print)
egulat(ng Authority
Delivery Date
U.L Label #
Installation Date
Revised 1/22/W
