I apologize that the drafter labeled the above ground portion of the pipe as Red Thread
IIA. Red Thread IIA pipe does not have a UL approval for above ground use. The pipe has UL971 listing for underground use. I have also
attached the UL letter to Western Fiberglass for their sump. The above ground portion and lid have an approved UV coating application, also
provided by Western Fiberglass.
It is my understanding that this is the same transition sump and piping set up that is at the City of Tracy Corporation Yard, and has been
installed in other County locations within the past year.
As we agreed in our meeting, if approved, this detail can be stapled to the drawings with my approval by Environmental Health. Kevin, if
Environmental Health approves the Permit, we will provide the City with 2 new copies of Sheet C3, stamped and signed, for the Inspector copy
and the contractor copy of the City Permit.
Mike Robertson
ROBERTSON ENGINEERING, Inc.
2300 Bethards Drive, Suite L
Santa Rosa, CA 95405
Phone: (707)523.7490
Fax: (707)523.7499
Email: mike@robertsonengineedng.net
From: Kasey Foley [EH] [mailho:KFoley@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Tuesday, May 03, 2011 12:28 PM
To: Mike Robertson; Thuy Tran [EH]
Cc: kevin.jorgensen@d.tracy.ca.us; Willy Ng [EH]; Raymond von Flue [EH]
Subject RE: Tracy Truck & Auto, 3940 N Tracy Blvd, Tracy - REi Project No. 09153
Mike,
It appears that part of the Western Fiberglass sump is still above grade along with the Smith Fibercast Red Thread IIA fiberglass piping. I have spoken with Kevin Jorgensen, Chief
Building Official for the City of Tracy, and he agrees with my concerns. Our department will not be able to approve this plan until we see the UL approval for aboveground use of these
fiberglass components.
Thank you for your efforts.
Kasey Foley, RENS
Program Coordinator
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, CA 95202-3029
(209)468-3451
kfgley@stMhd.com
From: Mike Robertson [mailto:mike@robertsonengineering.net]
Sent Monday, May 02, 2011 10:02 AM
To: Thuy Tran [EH]; Kasey Foley [EH]
Subject Tracy Truck & Auto, 3940 N Tracy Blvd, Tracy - REI Project No. 09153
i!
Attached please find the revised Sump Detail for the above referenced
Detail & Transition Sump.
project.
