with positive shutdown. By installing a second sump probe we have provided a more
reliable secondary means of line leak detection, because the sump probes are more
reliable and accurate than the mechanical line leak detectors. I have removed UST's in
the past which had line leak detectors and holes in the product piping.
Proposal 2
Remove one line leak detector and add one 4" valve. Since the lines from each pump
are teed together anyway, one line leak detector proves the entire underground line
coming from both pumps. The second line leak detector is not doing anything except
proving the 6" steel line in the sump between the pump and the swing check valve. This
would remove the problem with opening both lines simultaneously and gradually.
In summary, please review the two proposals carefully then call me with your selection.
I can be reached more readily by cell phone at 916-396-6319 or you can leave a
message at my office 916-386-3716. 1 am also available to meet with you in person
any time except Tuesday afternoon.
Sincerely,
George Takemori
Project Manager
CC: Steve Sasson
End: Drawing 10657
