Prior to conducting fieldwork.Site-specific hazards related to this task must be incorporated by the project <br /> team. Once completed,the JHA should be reviewed regularly with site personnel who will be performing this <br /> task. <br /> Task Description: <br /> General guidelines for working safely when performing ERM personnel activities and/or overseeing subcontractor well maintenance and obstruction <br /> removal. <br /> Hazard Analysis: <br /> Task Step Hazard Control Measures <br /> Remove well lid or vault with Uneven,slippery terrain-slips,trips,and falls. Remove trip hazards from work area. Use slip mats or <br /> ratchet and screwdriver,or alternate paths if needed. Employee awareness while <br /> vault hook. walking,and training in recognition of hazards. <br /> Hand injury-pinch points,rough surface. Keep hands away from ground when removing well or vault <br /> lid to prevent crushing injury to hands/fingers. Use leather <br /> gloves. <br /> Physical injury from lifting well covers. Do not lift>50 lbs by yourself-Use buddy system. Keep load <br /> close and don't bend at waist. <br /> Natural hazards-insects and reptiles. See Natural Hazards JHA. <br /> Perform maintenance activities Hand injury(pinch points,sharp edges,etc.)from Employee awareness of the hazards. Use appropriate tool for <br /> if using ERM equipment. material handling. the job.
