1.0 PROJECT AND SITE INFORMATION
1.1 GENERAL PROJECT INFORMATION
ERM-West, Inc. (ERM) developed this Health and Safety Plan(HASP)for
use on The Former LESCO Facility, on behalf of John Deere Landscapes
(Deere). The site name and address is:
Former LESCO Facility
2829 and 2835 West Washington Street
Stockton,California 95203
1.2 SITE DESCRIPTION
The site consists of two parcels encompassing approximately 5 acres. The
primary parcel comprises 3.5 acres and is leased from M.A. Sanguinetti and
L. E. Brown. The second parcel is approximately 1.5 acres, and was leased
from the Port Authority- Port of Stockton until 2006. The site consists of
areas formerly used for dry bulk fertilizer storage, a liquid fertilizer tank
farm, and a full-bag storage warehouse. Additional site features include a
lined storm water retention basin at the northern portion of the site and a
railroad spur. The site is located within the Port of Stockton, less than one-
half mile south of the Stockton Deep Water Channel.
TRI Delta Fertilizer, Inc., and Delft Fertilizer were originally involved in
fertilizer manufacturing on the property. LESCO, Inc., then operated a
fertilizer distribution facility at this location from 1997 until the company
was purchased by Deere in 2007. Past activities included storage of dry and
liquid fertilizer, and blending of dry fertilizer. There is no current
commercial activity at the site and the Dry Bulk Storage Warehouse/ Former
Mixing Area (Former Mixing Area) building and the Former Liquid Tank
Farm concrete pad were demolished and removed from the site in late 2010.
A map of the area surrounding the site, the site layout, and a map
showing directions from the site to St.Joseph's Medical Center are
provided in Appendix A.
1.3 CLIENT HEALTH&SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
The client does not have any special requirements for the work governed
by this HASP, other than those described in subsequent sections below.
ERM 1-1 DEERE/129740-9/29/2011
