• Excavation of soils impacted with ammonia,nitrates,and lead; <br /> ® Stockpiling and,if necessary,treatment of affected soils; and <br /> • Loading affected and treated soils onto railcars or dump trucks for <br /> transport to appropriate off-site facilities. <br /> Subcontractors need to submit JHA(s) for their tasks prior to starting <br /> work. These will be reviewed by ERM Safety and field personnel and will <br /> be added to the project file. <br /> For all non-routine field tasks (e.g., drilling and well abandonment <br /> activities, groundwater sampling, soil remediation),a site-specific field <br /> safety checklist must be completed (Appendix C). This checklist will help <br /> to ensure that proper H&S procedures are followed. <br /> 4.2 SITE PERSONNEL JOB TASKS <br /> Workers with the following job descriptions will be engaged in activities <br /> conducted at the site. <br /> 4.2.1 Soil Remediation (Subcontractors) <br /> A construction contractor who specializes in environmental remediation <br /> will be used for soil excavation activities. The types of workers and <br /> equipment will vary depending on the scope and purpose of the site <br /> investigation activity. Examples of equipment used for site investigation <br /> include trackhoes,bulldozers,compactors,front end loaders,haul trucks, <br /> and water trucks. Types of activities will include soil excavation, soil <br /> compaction, soil treatment, transporting excavated materials, dust control, <br /> and stockpile management. <br /> 4.2.2 Operation,Maintenance &Monitoring employees) <br /> tees) <br /> Field laborers will be used during completion of all work activities.
