Chaney, Walton & McCall (LLC)
The first zone of water saturation at the Site and vicinity reportedly occurs at depths of 60
to 70 feet below grade. Penetration into the first zone of saturation is not expected during
this Site Assessment. The water levels in the monitoring wells onsite will be measured.
4
Analytical Laboratory Testing 1
For this initial sampling event, a total of four soil samples will be submitted to a
California certified analytical laboratory for organic constituent testing using the
following U.S. EPA Methods.
Chemical of Concern U.S. EPA Method
MTBE and BTEX Method 8260
TPHg Method 8016
Laboratory testing will be performed with a standard turnaround time of ten to fifteen
business days.
QUALITY ASSURANCE /QUALITY CONTROL PROCEDURES
Standard quality assurance/quality control sample (QA/QC) procedures involving the
collection and processing of environmental samples will be followed. Sampling
equipment will be cleaned between soil sample drives as well as between soil borings.
Collected samples will be labeled with sample identification number, depth of collected
sample, date, a CW&M project number/name and sampler's initials. Soil samples will be
processed and transported to a California certified analytical laboratory under chain-of-
custody procedures.
PREPARE SITE ASSESSMENT REPORT
The Former VFO - Site Assessment Addendum Report (Addendum Report) will be
prepared, which describes the findings of the field investigation outlined above. Based
on the assessment findings, the Report will address the potential that the organic
constituents of gasoline stored during former UST operations at the Site have adversely
affected Site soils.
i
The Addendum Report will also include recommendations for additional Site
characterization activities or regulatory closure, based on the evaluation of Assessment
findings.
i
DFI00101.sJCPH.wkp.011900 6 530.758.$128 v/f
recgroup0earthl ink.net
