Terminous Market Page 2
13889 W. Hwy 12 August 26, 2008
Lodi, CA. 95242
Water samples from MW-3 also contained TPHg concentrations on the February and May
sampling events but were non-detect on the July 16, 2008 event. Changes in the groundwater
flow direction may cause the plume of contaminated groundwater to move and the contaminant
concentrations in the water samples from these wells to change. The drinking water supply well
for this site is approximately 150 feet away from the contaminant source area (location of former
underground storage tank) so active remediation of the contamination may be necessary.
The grab-ground water sample collected on February 25, 2008, from boring B7 to the northwest
of MW-3 contained 1500 ug/I of TPHg and low concentrations of, ethylbenzene and xylenes.
The soil sample from boring B6 at 5 feet below grade contained TPHg. This data indicates the
lateral extent of the contamination is not defined. The Report recommends additional
investigation in the area of B6 and B7 and the EHD concurs with that recommendation.
In order to investigate the lateral extent of the ground water petroleum plume to the northwest
near B7, a shallow monitoring well should be installed so that repeatable ground water sampling
can be conducted.
Please submit a work plan for the monitoring well installation in the area of boring B7 and further
investigation of the contamination in the area of B6 by October 6, 2008. The report of findings
for this phase is to be formatted in the context of a Site Conceptual Model and submitted to
Geotracker within 60 days of completion of the work.
Quarterly monitoring and monitoring well/soil boring installation reports, electronic laboratory
data, depth to ground water levels, updated site maps and work plans are required to be
submitted to Geotracker. The EHD has discussed the missing submittals with AGE and has
been assured that ALL submittals will be uploaded immediately. Please ensure that all of the
reports and data required in the future are submitted in a timely manner. Failure to submit
required submittals to Geotracker could place your site in jeopardy to remain eligible to receive
reimbursement from the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) Clean-Up Fund.
If you have any questions, please contact Michael Infurna at (209) 468-3454 or by email at
minfurna a sicehd.com.
4
Michael J.
