i
'
Terminous Market page 2
13899 W. Hwy 12, Terminous, CA.
Soil from 30' bgs to 60' bgs in pilot boring MW-6 is to be continuously cored and
a significant number of soil samples are to be analyzed so that vertical
delineation and residual mass conclusions can be supported. Additionally, if
zones of higher permeability are noted in this interval, grab ground water
samples shall be collected and analyzed for the laboratory constituents listed in
the work plan. Conclusions and recommendations in the report of findings for
this phase of work should address and discuss any contamination detected in the
interval between 25 and 50 feet bgs. Additional monitoring wells may be needed
if contamination is detected in a permeable zone in this interval.
Boring logs for the four existing monitoring wells (MW-1 thru MW-4) were
evaluated by EHD and discrepancies were noted. Silty sand and sandy silt are
both represented by the symbol SM on the well logs. The composition and
percentages of silt and sand in the soil samples are not described. EHD is
unable to evaluate potential migration concerns without this data. Please have
your consultant revise the boring logs for the four existing monitoring wells and
include the update in the report of findings for MW-5 and MW-6 installation.
The work plan is adequate and necessary [H&S 25296.10 (c)(3)] and approved
with the inclusion of the above noted conditions.
Please submit a Well Permit Application Form and $368 fee immediately.
You may continue to direct your submittals to Michael Infurna and you may
contact him at (209) 468-3454 or by email at minfurna(a)sicehd.com.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Environ ental Health Department -A
Michael J.
