I l February 2005
AGE-NC Project No 00-0696
Purged ground water was containerized in properly labeled, DOT-approved 55-gallon drums and
stored on-site Monitoring well development field logs are provided in Appendix C
2 1 5 Well Head Survey
On 24 November 2004, a California state-licensed surveying engineer from Morrow Surveying
surveyed the location and elevation of monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4, the global
positioning system(GPS)location was surveyed to the nearest 0 1-foot relative to coordinate datum
NAD 83 (1986), and the elevation at the notch in the top of the well casing was surveyed to the
nearest 0 01-foot relative to NAVD 88 from GPS observations The elevations of wells MW-1
through MW-4 were determined to be 11 80 feet, 12 30 feet, 12 57 feet, and 12 76 feet below mean
sea level(MSL),respectively The results of the monitoring well survey are recorded in Table 1 The
surveying report is presented in Appendix D
2 2 QUARTERLY WELL MONITORING
The initial quarterly ground water monitoring event was performed on 29 November 2004, ground
water monitoring was performed on monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4
2 2 1 Well Monitoring and Evacuation
The depths to ground water in monitoring wells MW-1 through MW-4 were measured from the tops
of the well casings to the nearest 0 01-foot utilizing a Solinst water level meter Ground water
elevation in each well was calculated by subtracting the measured depth to ground water from the
surveyed casing elevation (Table 1)
' After water levels were measured, approximately 9 to 9 5 gallons of water (a minimum of three
casing water volumes per well) were purged from wells MW-1 through MW-4 using disposable
plastic bailers Ground water temperature,pH, and conductivity were measured at regular intervals
' during purging using an Oakton water analyzer Field sheets and data are included in Appendix C
Purged water was stored on-site in properly labeled, DOT-approved 55-gallon drums
' 2 2 2 Collection and Analysis of Ground Water Samples
' Ground water samples were collected from each well using disposable plastic bailers after allowing
. the wells to achieve a minimum 80% recovery of the pre-purge water volume Each water sample
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
