Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, Ca 95201
Re: Southland property #20680 SJ County site code: 1886
9110 Thornton Road in
Stockton, Ca
Dear Ms. Cotulla:
I am enclosing to you a report dated November 1990 which sum-
marizes groundwater monitoring and sampling activities con-
ducted during the third quarter of 1990.
I would also like to take this opportunity to bring your at-
tention to two (2) other matters.
REMEDIAL SYSTEM CLOSURE
In my letter to you dated October 22, 1990 I indicated that
Southland was of the opinion that our goals of site
remediation were complete. I also indicated that Southland
be allowed to decommission existing remedial, systems. I re-
quested comment from the San Joaquin County Department of
Health and or the Regional Water Quality Control Board. To
date, we have not received any comment from any interested
regulatory agency.
As mentioned in my letter of October 22, 1990, it is our in-
tention to leave the existing water treatment system dormant
but in place with all permits kept current, while removing
all vapor extraction equipment located above ground. Activ-
ity on site would be reduced to quarterly ground water
monitoring for a time into the future which has yet to be de-
termined.
Southland is revising the date for system decommissioning to
January 21, 1990 as to allow interested regulatory agencies
additional time to comment. If no comments are received by
this office prior to January 21, 1990, Southland will assume
that all parties are in agreement.
SOUTHLAND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES/ LOCATION 2987
5820 STONERIDGE MALL ROAD/SUITE 310/P.O.
