f
t
tW111v
t
Mr. Hal Miller JON 1 9 1989
(Wµ' June 8, 1989
Page 2
r!iH
Following installation of the monitoring wells, free product was
measured in monitoring wells MW--1 and MW-4. Upon detection,
product bailing on a regular schedule was conducted until a
pumping system could be installed. In July, an interim double--
pump system was installed ir• Mw-4 to give preliminary hydraulic
control on the free product, and to pump it from the subsurface.
In an attempt to obtain increased control on the free product and
dissolved plumes beneath the site, three additional recovery
wells were installed between October and November. A deeper,
larger diameter recovery well (PW-3) was installed on site to
r monitoring well MW-4,
replace the small diametewhich was being
used as an interim, on-site, recovery well. A small diameter
recovery well (PW-1) was also installed on the periphery of the
..- site between MW-9 and the domestic well at 9135 Connie Avenue.
Recovery well PW-1 was installed to prevent the migration of
dissolved hydrocarbons to domestic well 9135. Another small
diameter recovery well PW--2, was installed down gradient and off-
site between domestic well 8968 and previously installed MW-8.
This pumping well was installed in the event that it would be
needed to prevent the migration of dissolved hydrocarbons to
domestic well 8968. PW-2 has never been used as a pumping well.
Additionally, during October-November, three monitoring wells
were installed (MW-10 through MW-12) off-site to obtain further
dissolved plume definition. Underground piping was installed to
MW-12 allowing its use as a pumping well to intercept dissolved
hydrocarbons that might impact the Tomato Growers Association
domestic well.
GROCNpN:ATER
TECHNOLOGY,INC.
