FLUOR DANIEL GTI <br /> May 21, 1996 <br /> Mr Bob DeNmno <br /> The Southland Corporation <br /> 19033 West Valley Hwy, D-104 <br /> Kent,WA 98032 <br /> Subject First Quarter 1996 Monitoring and Sampling Report <br /> Southland Sebe No 20680 <br /> 9110 Thornton Road <br /> Stockton,California <br /> Project 02070 0230 <br /> Dear Mr DeNinno <br /> This letter describes the methods and results of monitoring and sampling activities performed by Fluor <br /> Daniel GTI, Inc (Fluor Daniel GTI) during the first quarter of 1996 at The Southland Corporation <br /> (Southland) Site No 20680 located at 9110 Thornton Road in Stockton,California (Figures 1 and 2, <br /> Attachment 1) A summary of activities conducted during this reporting period is provided below <br /> s Depth to water(DTW)was gauged in 5 groundwater monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, <br /> MW-4, MW-10 and MW-14) MW-12 was not accessible for monitoring or sampling <br /> ■ Groundwater samples were collected from the 5 groundwater monitoring wells The <br /> samples were submitted and analyzed for benzene.toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes <br /> (BTEX), methyl tert butyl-ether(MTBE),and total petroleum hydrocarbons-as-gasoline <br /> (TPH-G) <br /> Groundwater Monitoring Data <br /> Groundwater monitoring was conducted on March 19, 1996 The wells were gauged to de.ermine DTW <br /> and to check for the presence of separate-phase hydrocarbons(SP) The wells were mondoree using an <br /> INTERFACE PROBE""Well Monitoring System,which uses a dual optical sensor/conducMy probe to <br /> distinguish between water and petroleum products A potentiometnc surface map was generated using <br /> top-of-casing elevations and DTW measurements(Figure 2) <br /> Based on monitoring data collected from the sate-related wells on March 19, 1996,groundwater flow was <br /> toward the southeast under a gradient of 01 to 002 ftfft.
