Fiat Quarter 1996 Monitor and Saniplirp Report 2
. The Southland Corporation.9110 Thornton Road,Stockton,CA _ May 21,1996
i
Groundwater monitoring data from the March 19, 1996 monitoring and sampling event are summarized in
Table 2 Field Data sheets are included in Attachment 3
Monitoring Well Sampling and Analytical Results
On March 19, 1996,the following monitoring wells MW-1,MW-2,MW-4,MW-10 and MW-14 were sampled
Monitoring well MW-12 was inaccessible due to a stuck pump in the well At least three well volumes of water
was purged from each well (unless the well was purged dry)to ensure stabilization of pH, conductivity and
temperature. Monitoring wells vAh sufficient water were allowed to recharge to at least 80 percent of the initial
level before sampling Samples were collected from the monitoring wells using disposable bailers The
samples were labeled, stored on ice in an insulated container, and delivered to NEI/GTEL Environmental
Laboratories in Wichita, Kansas under chain-of-custody manifest The samples were analyzed for BTEX.
MTBE and TPH-G by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) methods 8020/modified 8015 In order to
confirm the analytical results for MTBE by method 8020,the samples were re-analyzed using EPA method
8260
On March 19,1996,approximately 68 gallons of purge water was pumped to the sanitary sewer in accordance
with the Special Permit thr Waste Water Discharge letter, dated June 5, 1995, from the City of Stockton,
Department of Municipal Utilities.
Historical analytical results for groundwater samples are summarized in Table 1 Analytical results for
groundwater samples collected on March 19, 1996 are summarized in Table 2 No TPH-G was detected in
any of the monitoring wells sampled Benzene was detected only in the groundwater sample from well MW-1
ata concentration of 0 8 micrograms per liter(ug/L) No MTBE was detected above the reporting limit in any
of the samples analyzed by either EPA method 8020 or 8260 A copy of the laboratory analytical report and
the chain-of-custody manifest are included in Attachment 4
The site is currently being considered for closure by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board -
Central Valley Region (CRWQCB-CVR),and the San Joaquin County Public Health Services(SJCPHS)
°230q198 1) FLYO!
