San Joaquin County Public Health Services
Project No. 3-49120-31
Page Two
TPHG or BTEX in any of the groundwater samples collected from this site. The last sampling
event, conducted in December 1991, was the fourth consecutive quarter with TPHD, TPHG and
BTEX not detected in any of the groundwater samples collected from the groundwater monitoring
wells. It should be noted that none of these compounds have ever been detected in monitoring well
MW-1 (RESNA,January 1991).
Recommendations
In light of the fact that no contamination has been detected at this site for the past four quarters, the
submission of a corrective action plan is unwarranted at this time. In compliance with the LUFT
(Leaking Underground Fuel Tank) Field Manual, it is the recommendation of RESNA that Quik
Stop request a cessation of quarterly groundwater monitoring at this site. This quarterly
groundwater monitoring program should be replaced with two semi-annual monitoring events. If
the results of these two analyses also fail to detect TPHD, TPHG and BTEX, Quik Stop should
request that groundwater sampling and monitoring at this site be discontinued
References
Exceltech, October 1990, "Soil and Groundwater Investigation at Quik Stop Market No. 120,
9321 North Thornton Road, Stockton, California"; unpublished technical report for Quik
Stop Markets, Inc., Fremont, California.
RESNA,January 1991,December 1991, "Quarterly Groundwater Sampling and Analysis for Quik
Stop Market No. 120, 9321 North Thornton Road, Stockton California'; unpublished
technical report for Quik Stop Markets,Inc.,Fremont,California.
Leaking Underground Fuel Tank Task Force, "October 1989, Leaking Underground Fuel Tank
Field Manual; Guidelines for Site Assessment, Cleanup and Underground Storage Tank
Closure'; State Water Resources Control Board, State of California,pg. 61.
If you have any questions regarding this report, please call.
Sincerely,
RESNA Industries, Inc.
'chard A. arlow, R.E.A. 1365 Lawrence D.
