26485 THORNTON ROAD
WKA No 2556 02
December 8, 1994
Page 2
Water samples were immediately placed in an ice-chest with ice and submitted under chain-of-
custody
hainof-
custody to a California-certified laboratory for analysis of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH)
as gasoline using Modified EPA test method 8015, and Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Total
Xylenes (BTEX) using EPA test method 602
The two-inch diameter submersible pump was cleaned with a solution of Liqui-nox and water
prior to purging each well to mir mize the potential for cross-contamination All water removed
during sampling and purging operations was placed in sealed and labeled 55-gallon drums and
stored on site.
No free product or sheen was observed in monitoring wells MWl, MW2, or MW3 Analysis of
water sample MW1 revealed no detectable concentrations of TPH as gasoline or BTEX.
Analysis of water sample MW2 revealed a TPH as gasoline concentration of 230 µglf and a trace
ethylbenzene concentration Analysis of water sample MW3 revealed a TPH as gasoline
• concentration of 210 µg/f, BTEX was not detected Analytical results for ground water samples
obtained from the three on-site monitormg wells are summarized in Table 2 Complete analytical
results and chain-of-custody documentation are included in the Appendix.
The sixth quarter of ground water sampling is scheduled for February, 1995 A summary of our
findings will be transmitted upon completion of our next report.
