O. Box 2009
Stockton, California 95201
Subject: Soil Excavation and Subsurface Investigation Results Report
Pacific Coast Producers Lodi Cannery
32 Tokay Street, Lodi, California
Dear Ms. Turkatte:
Enclosed you will find a copy of the above-referenced report. The site work has
been completed and the surface repaired to its original condition. The excavated soil has
been properly disposed of at the Forward, Inc. landfill in San Joaquin County.
In addition to the excavation of the petroleum hydrocarbon impacted soil, there was
some indication of contamination which was located under the large concrete warehouse
immediately adjacent to the excavation. Since it would not be possible to excavate under
this structure without jeopardizing its integrity, you requested that we conduct a slant
boring under the building where the impacted soil was located. In addition, you requested
soil borings under the excavation to ascertain if any further impacted soil existed from the
bottom of the excavation to 30 feet in depth.
1
The two soil borings under the excavation indicated no detectable total petroleum
hydrocarbon (TPH), or the volatile constituents of concern (BTEX). However, the slant ;
boring under the warehouse structure had an elevated TPH concentration (1500 mg/kg) f
at 14.5 feet, with non-detectable levels of BTEX. No detectable levels of TPH or BTEX
were found beneath this depth, in samples collected at 19.3, 24.1, and 29.0 feet.
To summarize Section 4.0 (Discussion and Recommendations) of the report, we
concur with the geologist's recommendations that no further action is required at the site
because:
691 North Cluff Avenue
P.O.
