Alaniz, John
From: Steve Heinen <s.heinen@pacificsteelgroup.com>
Sent: Tuesday, April 28, 2020 3:10 PM
To: Alaniz, John
Cc: Eric DeLeon; Brian Lohr; Robert Thomas
Subject: RE: Corrective action for Inspection Report
Hi John,
Thanks for your quick response. Please see my answers below.
Violation 118. 1) Our fabrication manager supervises all employees onsite,to include the foreman and
maintenance. That's why I included his name. Do you need his job description as well?
2) Brian Lohr and Georgeo Herrera are maintenance. All others were in the training class because we
were covering the EAP and the Contingency Plan. It was felt all employees should hear as much
information as possible and as long as we were training, we should include them.
3) It was my assumption that acceptable training of our maintenance people would be satisfied by
following the guidelines of Section "I Employee Training" of the Consolidated Emergency
Response/Contingency Plan under "Methods for safe handling of hazardous substances". During our
training, labeling is covered.
Violation 301
Violation 601
Violation 608 1 apologize for not checking my attachment for the disposal of the hazardous material. I'm working
from home today and apparently my scanner isn't making a good copy. I will get to a better scanner
tomorrow and resend the disposal records.
From:Alaniz,John <jalanizl@sjgov.org>
Sent:Tuesday, April 28, 2020 2:12 PM
To: Steve Heinen <s.heinen@pacificsteelgroup.com>
Cc: Eric DeLeon <e.deleon@pacificsteelgroup.com>; Brian Lohr<b.lohr@pacificsteelgroup.com>; Robert Thomas
<r.thomas@pacificsteelgroup.com>; David Scurlock<d.scurlock@pacificsteelgroup.com>
Subject: RE: Corrective action for Inspection Report
CAUTION:This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the
sender and know the content is safe.
Hi Steve,
I have reviewed the return to compliance. The following violations are still open:
Violation 118: Failed to maintain training records-OPEN
1) Does fabrication manager have the same job description as the foreman? I did not see the description for that
position.
2) Are the people that signed the sign-in sheet considered "maintenance?"
1
