• How do we deal with a spill of Universal <br />Waste? <br />— Batteries <br />Acid is the primary hazard from spilled or broken batteries. Always wear <br />the appropriate PPE: Rubber Gloves, Apron, and Eye/Face protection <br />Use an acid spill kit to neutralize the acid. Then place the broken battery <br />and spill neutralizer into a plastic bag. Finally mop the area to remove <br />any final residues. <br />— Mercury Thermometers or Switches <br />Prevent people from entering the spill area and notify your HSE <br />Coordinator for cleanup instructions and assistance.
