r
09 March 2001
I AGE-NC Project No 96-0254
' Temperature,pH and conductivity were measured at one- or two-gallon intervals The ground water
parameters were measured with a Hydac water analyzer Logs of the field data are included in
Appendix A Purged water was stored on-site in labeled 55-gallon drums
I
2 2 COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF GROUND WATER SAMPLES
Water samples were collected from each well using a new disposable plastic bailer Each water
sample was transferred into one 1-liter amber bottle without a sample preservative and into three
40-ml VOA vials containing 0 5 ml 18%HCL as a sample preservative After collection, the samples
were labeled and placed in a chilled container for transportation under chain-of-custody to
McCampbell Analytical, Inc (MAI), a California Department of Health Services (DHS)-certified
analytical laboratory The ground water samples were analyzed for the following
' • Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline and as diesel (TPH-g and TPH-d) in
accordance with EPA Method 8015 Modified
• Volatile aromatic compounds -benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and total xylenes (BTEX) in
lie accordance with EPA Method 8020
• Fuel oxygenates, including, di-isopropyl ether (RIPE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE),
I methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary amyl methyl ether (TAME) and tertiary butyl
alcohol (TBA) in accordance with EPA Method 8260 Modified
3.0. FINDINGS
3 1 GROUND WATER ELEVATION AND GRADIENT
The depths to ground water in wells MW-lA through MW-7 on-site and GLMW-3 off-site were
measured between 6 73 feet and 16 86 feet below the tops of the well casings
The ground water flow direction during this monitoring event was towards the north at an average
gradient of 0 005 feet/feet Data from MW-1A, MW-2A and MW-7 was not used to determine
ground water gradient These wells are screened at a deeper interval than the remaining wells
IGround water elevation contours are illustrated on Figure 3
I
•
Advanced GeoEnvironmental Inc
