' n i ' Corrective Action Plan Former CURTISS PONTIAC-BUICK ' 2450 Toste Road, Tracy, California ' 1.0. INTRODUCTION AND SCOPE OF WORK At the request of Mr Joe Toste,Jr of JT Storage,and the San Joaquin County Environmental Health ' Department (EHD) in a meeting held on 02 November 2001, Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc (AGE), has prepared this Corrective Action Plan (CAP) for 2450 Toste Road (site), Tracy, California The scope of the CAP was to evaluate the feasibility and cost aspect of several remedial ' action alternatives for hydrocarbon-impacted soil and ground water at the site ' The CAP was prepared in accordance with guidelines established by the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board(CVRWQCB)for the subsurface investigation of underground storage tank (UST) sites 20 BACKGROUND ' The site is situated within a retail business development in a business/agricultural area of western Tracy, and consists of a roughly triangular parcel of land bordered on the northwest by Toste Road l A large showroom/office structure for auto sales is located on the site The site setting is illustrated ie in Figure 1 The layout of the property and locations of wells and soil borings are depicted in Figure 2 r 21 REGIONAL GEOLOGICAL/HYDROGEOLOGICAL SETTING The site is situated within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California, a large, elongate g northwest tending, asymmetric structural trough The Great Valley Province has been filled with thick sequences of sediment ranging in age from Jurassic to Recent, creating a nearly flat lying alluvial plain extending from the Tehachapi Mountains in the south to the Klamath Mountains in the north The western and eastern boundaries of this province are comprised of the California Coast Range and the Sierra Nevada,respectively Rocks composing the basement complex of the province have not been completely defined bu* are believed to be of metamorphic and igneous origin The I Great Valley Province has been subdivided into two major divisions identified as the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys Based on the General Soil Map from the San Joaquin County Soil Survey, published by the United States Department of Agriculture Soil Conservation Service in 1992, the site is situated within an area of Capay clay soil Capay clay is located in mterfan basin or alluvial fan areas, and generally consists of very deep,moderately well-drained grayish brown and dark grayish brown clay The soil formed in alluvium derived from mixed rock sources IAdvanced GeGEnvironmental,Inc
