C 560 Tracy Boulevard Tracy,California
Wright Project No. 4529-D PHS/EHD Site Code 1421
Dear Mr. Verma
Wright Environmental Services. Inc. (Wright) has completed the Groundwater Monitoring Well
Sampling and Analysis for the 2nd Quarter 2009 letter report for the above referenced site (city
corporation yard) located at 520 Tracy Boulevard Tracy, California (see Figure 1). The purpose
of this work is to ascertain the depth to groundwater, identify suspected petroleum contaminants
in groundwater around the former underground storage tank area as required by the San Joaquin
County, Environmental Health Division (PHSIEHD) in their letters dated January 25, 1999 and
October 17,2007.
1.0 Groundwater Monitoring Well Installation and Sampling
1,2 Monitoring Well Sampling
Prior to sampling each monitoring well was purged by a contract sampling company (Blaine
Tech) using calculated well volumes based upon the depth to water in each casing. The depth to
groundwater measurement was made to the nearest one-one hundredth of one foot, and the well
was also checked for the presence of sheen or separate phase product. As each purge volume is
removed, measurements of pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, and temperature were taken
until these parameters stabilized over two measurements, which are interpreted to indicate
aquifer water entering the casing. The well water level was allowed to stabilize to about 80%of
its initial water level before collecting the sample.
Page t of 7
