1
The contract sampler noted that a wrecked automobile was parked very near MW-4 and had
leaked an oily substance that had entered the well box. The oily substance did not appear to have
entered the well casing, and the sampler cleaned the box and replaced and tightened the top of
casing well plug. The City staff has moved this vehicle away from the well box.
Each groundwater sample was carefully collected with a clean disposable PVC bailer and poured
with minimum cavitation and minimum headspace into the appropriate laboratory prepared
container. Each water sample was labeled, logged onto a chain-of-custody form, and placed in a
chilled ice chest on crushed ice for transport to the laboratory. Upon completion of well
sampling, each well was closed and locked. Well purge water is stored onsite in labeled, closed
top 55-gallon steel drums until the purge water is disposed by the City of Tracy. The well
sampling forms are attached to this letter.
2.0 Chemical Analysis—Groundwater Monitoring Well Samples
Four(4) groundwater samples were analyzed at Kiff Analytical LLC, a State-certified analytical
laboratory in Davis, California. All samples were tested for the following; Total Petroleum
hydrocarbons as Gasoline(TPHG) and Diesel (TPHD), Benzene (B), Toluene(T),Ethylbenzene
(E), Xylene(X), Volatile Organic Compounds(VOC),Methyl-tert-butyl-ether(MTBE), and fuel
oxygenates tert-Amyl-Methyl-Ether (TAME), Ethyl-tent-Butyl-Ether (ETBE), Di-Isopropyl
Ether (RIPE) and tert-Butyl Alcohol (TBA), '1,2-Dichloroethane (1,2-DCA), and Ethanol (Eth)
and Methanol (Meth)using EPA Methods 351018015, 8020 and 826018260B. The analyses were
performed and a"normal"ten-day turnaround.
The results are summarized in Table 2 below and the laboratory analytical reports are attached to
this letter report.
3.0 Groundwater Monitoring Well Gradient and Data
The current and previous groundwater measurements in wells are presented in Table 1 below. A
groundwater contour elevation flow plot is presented in Figure 1. Groundwater was plotted
flowing to the north and at a calculated gradient of about 0.002.
{
