• INTRODUCTION <br /> Touchstone Developments (Touchstone) was contracted by Chevron Products <br /> Company to document tank removal and perform sampling services at the Chevron <br /> Service Station number 9-8264 (Figure 1) The following on-site activities were <br /> performed at 3775 Tracy Boulevard, in Tracy, California, between November 7, <br /> 1995 and February 8, 1996 <br /> • Three product underground storage tanks (USTs) were abandoned <br /> and removed Representative soil samples were collected from the <br /> excavation area and associated soil stockpiles (Figures 2 and 3) <br /> • One used oil tank, one hoist and a sump were also uncovered and <br /> removed (Figures 2 and 3) <br /> • Product line piping and dispensers were removed and the area <br /> excavated to approximately 3 feet below grade surface (bgs) for <br /> sampling at representative points (Figure 2) <br /> • New USTs were installed Prior to installation, the sidewalls and the <br /> base of the excavation were sampled (Figure 3) <br /> • Eight soil borings were drilled at the site to determine the extent of <br /> hydrocarbon contamination in soil <br /> • Four monitoring wells were installed to assess groundwater conditions <br />. beneath the site <br /> Excavation work was performed under an approved work plan (Corrective Action <br /> Plan, Touchstone Developments, November 90, 9995) The purpose of this report <br /> is to summarize and document on-site activities and remediation work Investigative <br /> procedures are presented in Appendix A <br /> SITE CONDITIONS AND ACTIVITIES <br /> The site is a Chevron service station undergoing renovation at 3775 Tracy <br /> Boulevard in Tracy, California Tank removal, excavation, and soil stockpiling <br /> activities were performed by California Petroleum A Touchstone representative <br /> was on-site to observe the removallexcavation activities, and to collect soil samples <br /> from the excavation and associated stockpiled soil Regulatory officials on-site to <br /> observe field activities included Robert Sagaser of the City of Tracy, Letitia Briggs <br /> and Ron Rowe of the San Joaquin County Public Health Services, and Bruce <br /> Lambert of the City of Tracy Fire Department Brett Hunter and Rick Garrett were <br /> also on-site, as representatives of Chevron Transportation and disposal of the <br /> USTs and associated piping was accomplished by Erickson, Inc , of Richmond, <br /> California <br /> 9-8264tpnn page i <br />
