Additional Information Requirements - 2 -
8.
2 -8. Projected monthly water balance for each phase of construction demonstrating adequate
containment capacity for the 100-year return period total annual precipitation, including
consideration of at least the following:
a. A minimum of two feet of freeboard in each pond or land disposal area at all times;
b. Historical local evaporation data (monthly average values);
c. Local precipitation data with the 100-year return period annual total distributed monthly
in accordance with mean monthly precipitation patterns;
d. Proposed discharge rates distributed monthly in accordance with expected seasonal
variations; and
e. Projected long-term percolation rates.
9. A description of measures that will be taken to prevent off-site release of the water.
Site Specific Information
10. A description of the geology and hydrogeology of the area.
11. A description of the types of soil underlying the planned disposal areas. Include data on
the depth to groundwater, gradient, and information on aquifers and aquitards identified
beneath the property.
12. A description of any active or abandoned industrial, agricultural, domestic, or groundwater
wells on the property or the wastewater disposal area(s). If so, provide a map showing
their location(s). If available, a discussion of historical groundwater and surface water
monitoring data (supplemented with tables and maps as appropriate).
13. Characterization of the quality of the groundwater to be extracted. This may be based on
limited or one-time sampling and must include at least total dissolved solids, nitrate
nitrogen, and any waste constituents that might reasonably be expected to be present
(e.g., fuels from leaking storage tanks).
14. Characterization of groundwater quality underlying each disposal area. This may be based
on limited or one-time sampling and must include at least total dissolved solids, nitrate
nitrogen, and any waste constituents that might reasonably be expected to be present
(e.g., fuels from leaking storage tanks).
15. A flood hazard assessment (i.e., are any areas of the site located within the 100 year flood
zone? How are they protected from inundation?)
