' k" K L E IN F E L D E R <br /> 6 2 RECOMMENDATIONS <br /> Based on the data obtained during this assessment, Kleinfelder makes the following <br /> recommendations <br /> ' 1 Continue quarterly monitoring of the existing monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, MW-3, and <br /> MW-4) <br /> ' 2 Kleinfelder contacted Mr Harlin Knoll of the San Joaquin County PHS/EHD on October 24, <br /> 2002 to discontinue analyses of five oxygenates from groundwater samples collected at the site <br /> None o f t he f ive o xygenates h ave b een d etected i n g roundwater samples over the last three <br /> quarterly sampling events Permission to discontinue analyses for oxygentes was granted by Mr <br /> Knoll and thus, Kleinfelder recommends discontinuing analyzing the groundwater samples for <br /> the five oxygenates (TBA, MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, and TAME) <br /> 3 Mr Harlin Knoll of PHS/EHD has indicated that the UST located at the site near MW-1 can be <br /> ' closed in place Kleinfelder recommends submittal of a workplan for this purpose and final <br /> closure in place of this UST after workplan approval <br /> ' 4 Due to the presence of product in MW-1, Klemfelder recommends additional purging and <br /> removal of any product layer in MW-1 Klemfelder can assist General Mills with this task <br /> 5 Kleinfelder recommends that a copy of flus report should be submitted to-San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services Department, Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD) and <br />' the State of California, Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB) for <br /> their review and comment <br />' 6 The purge water currently stored on-site should be evaluated and properly disposed of by the <br /> Client Kleinfelder can assist the Client in the disposal process at an additional charge if <br /> requested by the client <br /> This report, and the conclusions and recommendations presented in this Executive Summary, are <br /> subject to the "Limitations" presented in Chapter 7 of this report Any other party (other than <br />' General Mills or regulatory agencies having enforcement jurisdiction for this site) who would <br /> like to use this report shall notify Kleinfelder, Inc of such intended use by executing the <br /> "Application for Authorization to Use" which is included as an appendix to this report <br />' 18748 T02/ST02R795 <br /> Page 10 of 11 <br /> ©2002 Kleinfelder,Inc December 3, 2002 <br />
