k" KLEINFELDER <br /> 2 SITE SETTING <br /> 1 <br />' 2.1 SITE LOCATION <br /> The site is located at 2000 West Turner Road, which runs east to west between Interstate 5 and <br />' State Highway 99 in Lodi, California The location of the existing UST discussed in Section 3 of <br /> this report is situated in an area south of the main office building and in the east-west trending <br />' roadway north of Building No 86 (See Plate 1) A second UST was previously located adjacent <br /> to the existing tank T he underground storage tank (UST) area is overlain with concrete and <br /> asphalt <br /> 22 CURRENT SITE USE <br /> tThe subject site is currently an operating facility utilized by General Mills Inc The site consists <br /> of an office, food product preparation facilities, fuel storage areas, silos, and parking areas, etc , <br />' for food production purposes <br /> 2.3 GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY <br />' The site lies within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California The valley is <br /> approximately 400 miles long and averages about 50 miles wide, and comprises about 20,000 <br /> square miles The valley has been filled with a thick sequence of marine and non-marine <br />' sediments from the late Jurassic to Holocene The uppermost strata of the Great Valley <br /> represent, for the most part, the alluvial, flood, and delta plains of two major rivers (Sacramento <br /> and San Joaquin Rivers) and their tributaries <br />' The valley deposits are derived from the Coast Ranges to the west and the Sierra Nevada to the <br /> east Granitic and metamorphic rocks outcrop along the eastern and southeastern flanks of the <br />' valley Marine sedimentary rocks outcrop along most of the western, southwestern, southern, <br /> and southeastern flanks, and volcanic rocks and deposits outcrop along the northeastern flanks of <br /> the valley The valley geomorphology includes dissected uplands, low alluvial plains and fans, <br />' river flood plains and channels, overflow lands, and lake bottoms <br />' According to San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (SJCFCWCD) <br /> maps, dated Spring 1998, depth to groundwater in the vicinity of the site is approximately 35 feet <br /> below ground surface (bgs) SJCFCWCD groundwater maps indicate groundwater flow <br /> direction is towards the south Groundwater flow directions may significantly fluctuate due to <br /> groundwater pumping, rainfall, groundwater recharge, etc <br />' 18748 T02/ST02R795 Page 2 of 1 I <br />' 0 2101 Klenfelder,Inc December 3,2002 <br />
