1 <br /> 2 SITE SETTING <br /> 2.1. SITE LOCATION <br />' The site is located at 2000 West Turner Road, which runs east to west between Interstate 5 and <br /> State Highway 99 in Lodi, California The location of the existing UST discussed in this report <br /> is situated in an area south of the main office building and in the east-west trending roadway <br />' north of Buildings #85 and #86 (See Plate 1) A second UST was previously located adjacent <br /> to the existing tank <br /> 2.2. CURRENT SITE USE <br /> The subject site is currently an operating facility utilized by General Mills Inc The site <br /> consists of an office, food product preparation facilities, fuel storage areas, silos, parking areas, <br /> etc , for food production purposes The area discussed within this report includes the tank area <br />' located towards the central portion of the site within 10 feet north of Buildings #85 and #86 <br /> The underground storage tank (UST) area is overlain with concrete and asphalt <br /> 2 3 GEOLOGY AND HYDROGEOLOGY <br /> The site lies within the Great Valley Geomorphic Province of California The valley is <br /> approximately 400 miles long and averages about 50 miles wide, and comprises about 20,000 <br /> square miles The valley has been filled with a thick sequence of marine and non-marine <br /> sediments from the late Jurassic to Holocene The uppermost strata of the Great Valley <br />' represent, for the most part, the alluvial, flood, and delta plains of two mayor rivers (Sacramento <br /> and San Joaquin Rivers) and their tributaries <br />' The valley deposits are derived from the Coast Ranges to the west and the Sierra Nevada to the <br /> east Granitic and metamorphic rocks outcrop along the eastern and southeastern flanks of the <br /> valley Marine sedimentary rocks outcrop along most of the western, southwestern, southern, <br /> t and southeastern flanks, and volcanic rocks and deposits outcrop along the northeastern flanks <br /> of the valley The valley geomorphology includes dissected uplands, low alluvial plains and <br /> fans, river flood plains and channels, and overflow lands and lake bottoms <br /> Accordingto San Joaquin Count Flood Control and Water Conservation District <br /> q Y <br /> (SJCFCWCD), dated Spring 1998, depth to groundwater in the vicinity of the site is <br />' approximate 35 feet below ground surface According SFCFCWCD groundwater maps, <br /> groundwater flow direction is towards the south-southeast Groundwater flow directions may <br /> significantly fluctuate due to groundwater pumping, rainfall, groundwater recharge, etc <br /> Therefore, changes in groundwater depth, gradient and flow direction may vary at this site with <br /> time <br />' 20-1417-16 E02/2000R578 July 28,2000 <br /> ©2000 Kleinfelder, Inc Page 2 of I l <br /> hl MINI 1l i)i R 1 9ti1 im%W( �hicl 20T 9Zits I i l5 ?IJ'll '1}B OG21 f,)v <br />
