i
30 October 2000
' AGE-NC Protect No 99-0657
labeled, placed In a chilled container and transported under chain-of-custody to Alpha Analytical
Laboratories, Inc (AAL) for analysis The samples were analyzed for the following
' Total petroleum hydrocarbons quantified as gasoline (TPH-g) and diesel (TPH-d) in
accordance with EPA Methods 5030/8015-modified for fuels,
• Volatile aromatic compounds benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylenes (BTEX) and
methyl tertiary-butyl ether(MTBE) in accordance with EPA Method 8020,
' Volatile organic compounds and fuel oxygenates MTBE, di-Isopropyl ether (RIPE), ethyl
tertiary-butyl ether (ETBE), tertiary-amyl methyl ether (TAME), tertiary butanol (TBA),
1,2-dichloroethane (1,2-DCA) and ethylene dibromide (EDB) in accordance with EPA
Method 8260
I3.0. FINDINGS
. Ground water elevation, flow direction, and gradient were determined from field data collected on
03 October 2000, the contaminant Impact to ground water was assessed from the laboratory
analytical data
I
3 1 GROUND WATER GRADIENT AND FLOW DIRECTION
IAt the time of the October 2000 sampling event, depths to ground water ranged from 30 07 feet to
31 13 feet below the tops of the well casings Relative ground water elevations at the site ranged
from 1100 feet above mean sea level (MSL) in well MW4 to 1131 feet above MSL in well MW2
(Table 1) During this monitoring event, the depths to ground water m the wells were approximately
0 07 to 6 09 feet below the tops of the well screens, Indicating that the wells are screened properly
and yield representative shallow ground water samples The relative ground water elevation at the
site Increased an average of 156 feet between the July 2000 and October 2000 monitoring events
IGround water is flowing toward the southwest under an average gradient of 0 005 feet/feet Figure
3 illustrates the contoured ground water elevations as measured on 03 October 2000
I3 2 ANALYTICAL RESULTS OF GROLND WATER SAMPLES
Ile TPH-g was detected in the all four ground water samples at concentrations ranging from 110,ug/1
in MW3 to 3,700,ug/1 In MW4 TPH-d was only detected in samples MW i and MW-4 at 3 80,ug/l
Iand 220 Ag/l, respectively
Advanced GecEnvironmental,Inc
I
