24 January 2003
AGE-NC Project No 99-0657
IPage 7 of 7 _
I0 The highest concentrations of dissolved hydrocarbons occurred in monitoring wells MW1,
MW4 and MW6,which are located down-gradient of the UST area Iso-concentration maps
depicting the approximate distribution of dissolved TPH-g,benzene and MTBE are presented
in Figures 4, 5 and 6
• Concentrations of dissolved TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX, MTBE, and 1,2-DCA have decreased
significantly from the previous three quarters, and concentrations of TAME and EDB have
dropped below laboratory detection limits Although there appears to be a general decline in
overall concentrations, cyclical highs and lows are apparent in the data, with higher reported
concentrations generally during higher ground water periods
• The lateral extent of ground water has only been defined to the east and southeast of the UST
area The vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbon-impacted ground water has not been
defined
5.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
lie
Based on the findings of this investigation, AGE recommends
• Continuation of the quarterly ground water monitoring program The next monitoring event
I was performed in January 2003
• Preparation of a work plan to define the vertical extent of petroleum hydrocarbons-impacted
soil and ground water and the western and southwestern lateral extent of petroleum
Ihydrocarbon-impacted ground water
6.0 LIMITATIONS
Our professional services were performed using that degree of care and skill ordinarily exercised by
environmental consultants practicing in this or similar localities The findings were based upon
analytical results provided by an independent laboratory Evaluation of the geologic/hydrogeologic
conditions at the site for the purpose of this investigation was made from a limited number of
available data points (ie soil and ground water samples) and subsurface conditions may vary away
from these data points No other warranty, expressed or implied, is made as to the professional
interpretations, opinions and recommendations contained in this report
0I
IAdvanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
