• <br /> auger flights to complete each soil boring/monitoring well <br /> without the necessity of decontaminating equipment The rig will <br /> be equipped with an approved core-sampling device designed to <br /> hold metal tubes for obtaining soil samples The coring <br /> equipment will be operated either by a conventional drive hammer, <br /> or a wireline operated system to allow continuous coring if <br /> desired Revised PLATE V is a general site map showing the <br /> proposed locations of the soil boring/monitoring wells A <br /> drilling permit application & necessary fee is enclosed <br /> 2 Cores will be taken at 5 ' intervals from 5 ' bgl to the <br /> capillary fringe, a portion of each core will be promptly covered <br /> with teflon tape & plastic end caps , sealed with duct tape, <br /> labeled & placed in a sealed ace chest for later transport to a <br /> State Certified laboratory for analysis Unused core material <br /> and drill spoils will be stored in metal drums , clearly labeled, <br /> and stored on location pending results of laboratory analysis <br /> 3 After obtaining a soil sample from the capillary fringe, each <br /> hole will be advanced at least 10 feet below the water table and <br /> completed as a monitoring well Each well will be completed as <br /> shown on the attached schematic, PLATE Vl , using either 2" or 4" <br /> . OD PVC slotted and blank casing <br /> 4 Soil samples will be transported to a State certified labora- <br /> tory with instructions to test for BTEX (EPA 8020, ) TPH-G (EPA <br /> 8015M, ) and total lead (EPA 7420 ) <br /> 5 Within 12-18 hours of completion, the well will be developed <br /> by surging and/or swabbing with a hard rubber disc or other <br /> suitable device Purge water will be placed in properly labeled <br /> and sealed drums & stored on site pending results of laboratory <br /> analysis <br /> 6 As soon as practical after development, the well will be <br /> purged, measured, and ,sampled according to WJH field protocol , a <br /> copy of that document was included with the original workplan as <br /> EXHIBIT J <br /> 7 Water samples will be transported under chain of custody to a <br /> State Certified laboratory with instructions to test for BTEX & <br /> TPH-G, using San Joaquin County approved detection limits <br /> 8 As soon as practical after completion of all wells , the <br /> elevation & surface coordinates of each will be determined by a <br /> licensed surveyor <br /> • 9 After receipt and analysis of all the data, a report will be <br /> prepared and submitted to the San Joaquin County EHD for review & <br /> comment If additional work appears necessary, proposals for <br /> 2 <br />
