AGE-NC Project No 95-0141
Page 8of13
3 7 TEMPORARY OBSERVATION WELL INSTALLATION
Two temporary observation wells will be installed utilizing"direct-push"soil boring techniques The
wells will be used as observation points during the proposed aquifer pumping tests The temporary
wells will be located
I0 Approximately 10 feet north of the proposed extraction well, and
• Approximately 30 feet north of the proposed extraction well
Following completion of the ground water extraction tests, the temporary wells will be backfilled
to surface grade using Portland cement Procedures for advancement, installation and abandonment
of the temporary wells are described in Section 4 6
3 8 GROUND WATER EXTRACTION FEASIBILITY TESTING
AGE proposes an 8-hour step draw-down pump test and a 48-hour constant rate ground water
10
extraction test to be conducted at the site to better predict a general radius of influence for ground
water extraction wells and to evaluate the feasibility of ground water extraction as a remediation
option Proposed extraction well EW-1 will be utilized as the extraction point during the pump tests,
temporary observation wells and shallow-screened monitoring wells will be utilized as observation
points The tests will be utilized to evaluate the general zones of capture (radius of influence)
achievable during ground water extraction at the site and to obtain general aquifer characteristics
such as hydraulic conductivity, storativity, transmissivity, and draw-down at a constant pumping rate
39 REPORT PREPARATION
Following each quarterly ground water monitoring event, a quarterly report will be prepared
presenting the findings The quarterly reports will include a description of work performed and the
results of the soil/groundwater sampling and analysis Conclusions and recommendations will also
be included in the reports, if applicable The report will be in a format acceptable to the EHD and
the CRWQCB guidelines, and will be reviewed and signed by a California Registered Geologist
4.0. FIELD PROCEDURES
All field procedures will be overseen by an AGE representative under the supervision of a California
Registered Geologist Procedures for CPT advancement and ground water sample collection,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc
