30350 TRACY BLVD, TRACY
PAGE 2
and 15,000 ppm of Motor Oil, and at 5 feet bsg were non-detect above detection limits
of 1 ppm for TEPH and 50 ppm for Motor Oil. Analytical results of the soil sample
taken from the 10,000 gallon diesel UST were 3,900 ppm of TEPH (west end), and 530
ppm of TEPH (east end). PHS/EHD staff noted odor and discoloration in the soil of
the 10,000-gallon diesel UST excavation. A preliminary investigation of the soil
contamination should be conducted in the area of the 10,000 gallon diesel UST State
ID 11073002. The total depth of the gravel pit should be determined to assess the
potential threat of contaminants leaching into groundwater.
A 7,000-gallon diesel UST State ID 1798001 was removed at the site on May 19, 1998.
PHS/EHD received Tank Removal Report dated June 1998 prepared by HK2,
Inc./SEMCO. Analytical result of the soil sample taken from the east end of the UST
excavation (T-3) at 15 feet bsg was 610 ppm of TEPH, and at 17 feet bsg (T-4) was
1,500 ppm of TEPH. A preliminary investigation of the soil contamination should be
conducted in the area of the 7,000-gallon diesel UST ID 1798C01.
A 6,500-gallon asphalt UST State ID 1798005 was removed at the site on May 14, 1999.
Analytical results of the soil samples taken from the Stock Pile (SP) S/West were
44,000 ppm of Total Recoverable Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TRPH), the SP S/East
25,000 ppm of TRPH, the SP N/East-West 7,100 ppm of TPH-diesel and 0.15 ppm of
Total Xylenes, and SP S/East-West was 14,000 ppm of TPH-diesel and 0.49 ppm of
Total Xylenes. Analytical result of the soil sample taken from the east end of the UST
was 3,800 ppm of TPH-diesel. Analytical results of the soil sample from the west end
were 400 ppm of TPH-diesel and 0.19 ppm of Total Xylenes. A preliminary
investigation of the soil contamination should be conducted in the area of the 6,500-
gallon asphalt UST State ID 1798C05.
Analytical results of the soil sample taken from the bin where residues from the
cuttings of the cutting of the above-mentioned 6,50C gallon asphalt UST were 7,500
ppm of diesel, 61,000 ppm of TRPH, 0.170 ppm of Benzene, 0.850 ppm of Toluene,
0.840 ppm of Ethyl Benzene, and 2.30 ppm of Total Xvlenes. A 96-Hour Fish
Bioassay using Fathead Minnow to determine the level of aquatic toxicity in the soil
contained in the bin was conducted. The results were no significant mortalities (LC50)
observed over a 96 hour period with concentrations ranging from 250 mg/L to 750
mg/L. Submit a proposal to PHS/EHD for the disposal of the soil cutting stored in
the bin.
