• Report observed accidents/incidents or inadequate work practices to the PHSO <br /> and the PM. <br /> 5.4 Project Personnel <br /> - Project personnel involved in on-site investigations and operations shall: <br /> Take reasonable precautions to prevent injury to themselves and to their fellow <br /> employees; <br /> • Perform only those tasks that they can do safely and immediately report accidents <br /> and/or unsafe conditions to the SSO or PHSO; <br /> ■ Follow the procedures set forth in the site health and safety plan and report to the <br /> SSO or PHSO any observed deviations from the procedures described in the plan on <br /> the part of SOMA or subcontractor personnel; and <br /> • Inform the PM and PHSO of any physical conditions that might affect their ability to <br /> perform the planned field tasks. <br /> 5.5 Training Requirements <br /> All project personnel must be in compliance with OSHA regulations specified in 29 CFR <br /> 1910.120 and CCR Title 8, Section 5192. For all SOMA personnel and all drilling <br /> contractor personnel, this includes completion of a 40-hour health and safety training <br /> course and an annual 8-hour refresher training; and participation in a medical monitoring <br /> program and respiratory protection program. Contractors and personnel not involved in <br /> drilling are required to make an individual determination of the applicability of OSHA <br /> regulations and training requirements to the work tasks they are performing. <br /> 6.0 SITE CONTROL <br /> The purpose of site control is to minimize the potential exposure to site hazards and to <br /> prevent vandalism at the site. <br /> 6.1 Site Security <br /> Only authorized personnel shall be permitted access to the site work areas. If possible, <br /> work areas will be cordoned with barriers to limit unauthorized access. Work will take <br /> place in the sidewalk area so a pedestrian by-pass with be created and maintained during <br /> working hours. <br /> Access to on-site work areas will be controlled by means of barricades and caution tape. <br /> In off-site locations barricades and caution tape shall be employed to prevent access to <br /> work areas by the general public. Each work crew shall contain at least one person <br /> . designated to control access. In addition to regular work duties this person shall be <br /> responsible for ensuring that access is controlled and that unauthorized persons remain <br /> outside the work area. <br /> 5 <br />
