KLE INFELDER & ASSOCIATES
J SAMPLE ANALYSES
Eight soil samples were submitted for chemical analyses: to Chemwest
Analytical Laboratorie's under chain-of-custody procedures .' on May i 14,
1987. The samples were analyzed for total petroleurp hydrocarbon6 by
GC-FID extraction and for benzene, toluene, and'
xylene by EPA method 8020.
Analytical results were received on the afternoon of May120'. 1987. These
results are summarized on Table 3. The results of analysis of samples
P
SS-03, SS-04, SS-06, and SS-07 (collected from the excavation) show no
detectable levels of benzene, toluene or xylenes, and Aon-detectablie or
very low levels of total petroleum hydrocarbons.
Several samples collected from the soil pile show
levels of total
petroleum hydrocarbons of potential concern.
j
These results appear to indicate that the contaminated soil has been
-excavated to non-detectable or low levels. The soil pile does contain
hydrocarbon constituents at levels of potential concern.
If you have any questions about the sample results, pleas!'e contact myself
r! or Kent, Zenobia. Thank you.
Sincerely, p
J.H.
