f.
Ground Zero Analysis,. Inc.
SITE SAFETY PLAN
i
FACILITY BACKGROUND
On June 9, 1992, one gasoline UST was removed from the site. Notes from PHS/EHD state
that the tank was rusty but did not contain holes. No odor or discoloration was noted in the tank
pit, except in native soil beneath the east end of the tank. Two soil samples were collected from
native soil beneath the tank and analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg),
benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX). The eastern soil sample reportedly
contained 3,300 parts per million (ppm) TPHg, 20 ppm ethylbenzene, and 210 ppm total
xylenes. The western sample did not contain any detectable TPHg and BTEX.
WORK PLAN
Task 1
Advance up to four soil borings at the site. One boring, located at.the eastern end of the former
UST pit, will be advanced to 40 feet, the historical low groundwater elevation. The three lateral
borings will be advanced to groundwater,':
approximately 35 feet bgs. Soil 'samples and
groundwater samples will be collected and submitted for laboratory analysis.
I
{
i
I
Page 2
