RESNA WATERWORK CORP.
INDUSTRIES
January 9, 1991 C(D
Mr. Steve Schneider
San Joaquin County
Public Health Services
Environmental Health Division
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Re: Marital Deduction Trust Site, 601 South Ventura,
Stockton, CA
Dear Mr. Schneider:
Per the recommendations of our Pro lem Assessment Report dated
November 29, 1990, the groundwater monitoring wells at the sub- ,
ject site were resampled and monito ed on November 14, 1990. The
monitoring data and analytical results are presented here as an
addendum to the November 29, 1990 PPR. Also enclosed are copies
of the laboratory data sheets and chain of custody form for the
August 23, 1990 samples which were inadvertently omitted from
Appendix V of the PAR.
The results confirm petroleum hydrocarbon presence indicated by
previous results from the PAR. However, the results are somewhat
lower than prior samples. Since no MCL has been established for
either TPHG or TPHD, only`. benzene (4 . 6 ppb) slightly exceeds the
state MCL for water of 1.0 ppb. We anticipate the levels to
continue to decrease over time due to natural biodegradation.
Continued groundwater monitoring with no further investigation is
warranted at this site due to the following considerations:
1. The source of the contamination has been removed.
2. The levels of dissolved constituent contamination do not
reflect direct contact with free product.
3. Contaminant characteristics indicate degraded gasoline demon-
strating that natural biodegradation is occurring.
4. Clayey soils would mitigate contaminant migration.
1710 MAIN STREET . ESCALON, CA 95320 • (209) 838-3507
2350-A WALSH AVENUE • SANTA CLARA, CA 95051 . (408)496-1249
