Nickerson, Project Manager
Unocal Corporate Environmental Remediation & Technology
2000 Crow Canyon Road, Suite 400
San Ramon, California 94583
Subject: Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc., Third-Quarter 1995, Quarterly Monitoring
Report, 2130 West Washington Street, Stockton, Unocal Order/Contract: 3400001179,
Sierra-Pacific Project No. 92-033.04
Dear Mr. Nickerson:
The third-quarter monitoring report for 2130 West Washington Street, Stockton is enclosed, and
very little has changed. Water levels have continued to lower throughout the summer. Ground
water is still flowing west-northwest. Nitrates are still coming in from the east, and concentrations
at MW-2 and MW-5 have remained relatively high.', I did some routine maintenance work on the
well heads and caps, and everything now seems to be in order.
Cargill, Inc. recently retained Sierra-Pacific to decommission MW-5, one of Unocal's up-gradient
monitoring wells. The well had to be decommissioned on August 25,- 1995 to facilitate soil
excavation and compaction work necessary to install a very large aboveground molasses tank.
Cargill has taken steps to replace the decommissioned monitoring well.
Copies of this quarterly monitoring report have been sent to all concerned parties. Please let me
know if you have questions or further directives.
Sincerely,
SIERRA-PACIFIC GROUNDWATER CONSULTANTS, INC.
Joh Ste h Rap , C G-1133
Senior 'ngineering Geologist
JSR/jb
Enclosure
C.
