The 12 May 1994 soils investigation report summarizes all of this
data.
Four monitoring wells were installed and sampled.in December, February, and May. The
j results show nitrate contamination in the upgradient well, but no nitrogen contamination in
the other three wells. For each of these three monitoring events, the groundwater gradient
has been to the west. Unfortunately', none of the four monitoring wells are in a
downgradient position. . Therefore, you are hereby;;requested to install a fifth monitoring well
at the site. As discussed today, the general location of the well is to be at the west-northwest
portion of the property; however, the exact placement depends on the existence of
underground utilities.
By 30 June 1994 please submit a short workplan and timeline for installation and surveying
of the'new`monitoring`wel"'We-expect-that tie weil should"be in-place in time`for the -
August quarterly monitoring event. The new well should.be sampled for the same
constitutents as the existing wells.
If you have any questions, I can be reached at (916) 255-3104.
WENDY WYELS
Ag Regulatory Unit
E
)
C6: Mr. Michael Infurna; San Joaquin County Environmental Health, Stockton
Ms. Charlene Wall, Port of Stockton, Stockton €
Mr. Jack Holm, Cargill, Stockton I
Mr. John Rapp, Sierra Pacific Consultants, El Dorado Hills
I
i
